Whether your time at our studio is spent recording, or whether the time is spent “practicing” your parts, it still costs the same. To be efficient with your studio time come to the studio with your songs ready to be tracked. Being prepared for the studio means deciding in advance what songs you want to record first, and make sure you have all the right instruments that you want to add or any other production elements that you want in the songs. In most cases it is good recording protocol to inform us of any special needs that your music requires in advance.

These ideas apply to video or graphic projects as well. Have an idea of locations and what you want in your music video. Have samples or some kind of idea of what you want your graphics to look like including color schemes and layout. Consulting and writing of your video production or time spent “guessing” by our graphic artists with multiple designs to give you multiple choices of what you may want will cost more.

Just know that the more prepared you are the more efficient your time will be in the studio. If you have any questions about how things proceed in the recording process, please feel free to contact us and we would be more than happy to discuss the arrangements.

Here are some basic rules and policies to follow when working with Studio 5.1 either for Audio, Video, Graphics, Web, or Replication work.

  1. 1)Billable time starts when you book the time and ends when you are finished. There is a minimum of one hour charge for all recording. So if you take fifteen minutes to lay down your part it will still be billed as one hour. After the first hour, time is billed in half-hour increments.

  2. 2)There is no alcohol, or illegal or illicit drug use while in the studio or at a video shoot, or in any circumstance where Studio 5.1 has been employed. Any violation to this policy can result in immediate cessation of services and the client will be billed for the time Studio 5.1’s services were employed up to that point.

  3. 3)For projects such as video, web, and replication services a non-refundable deposit is required. In all other cases, payment is due at the end of the day’s recording session, and when the graphics projects are complete and approved. Special exceptions can be made at the discretion of Studio 5.1.

  4. 4)All damage that is the result of the acts of the artists or clients of Studio 5.1, whether this is to studio equipment, studio facilities, lighting and camera equipment, or any other property of Studio 5.1, the damage is the responsibility of the party involved.
